All of Loss Allegedly Attributable to One Employee Was a Single Loss, Which Insured Had "Discovered" Prior to Policy's Inception, Sixth Circuit Rules
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, affirming a decision by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, has ruled that all of a loss allegedly attributable to one employee was a single loss under an employee theft insurance policy and that the insured had "discovered" that loss prior to the execution of the policy. Read More

No Coverage for Interrelated Wrongful Acts That Began Before Policy Period, Louisiana District Court Rules
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana has ruled that the insured's allegedly wrongful acts amounted to one "interrelated" wrongful act that began with the first such act - before the policy period had begun. Read More

Mixed Martial Arts Events Would Need $1 Million in Insurance under Proposed New York Rules
The New York State Athletic Commission has proposed regulations that would require promoters of mixed martial arts and other similar events in the state to provide at least $1 million in medical, surgical, and hospital care insurance for the treatment of any life-threatening brain injury sustained in a program operated by the promoter. This appears to be the most stringent requirement of any state. Read More
