Crime and Employee Dishonesty All of Loss Allegedly Attributable to One Employee Was a Single Loss, Which Insured Had "Discovered" Prior to Policy's Inception, Sixth Circuit Rules
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, affirming a decision by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, has ruled that all of a loss allegedly attributable to one employee was a single loss under an employee theft insurance policy and that the insured had "discovered" that loss prior to the execution of the policy. Mixed Martial Arts Events Would Need $1 Million in Insurance under Proposed New York Rules
The New York State Athletic Commission has proposed regulations that would require promoters of mixed martial arts and other similar events in the state to provide at least $1 million in medical, surgical, and hospital care insurance for the treatment of any life-threatening brain injury sustained in a program operated by the promoter.
