Overheard on BenefitsPro

My take on Obamacare is that it is essentially what Obama and most of the Democrats wanted: the appearance of significant change, i.e. near universal coverage, while maintaining the status quo (health insurers are big political contributors) The details reflect the way laws are now made in this country. The end result will be health care that is more expensive, more complicated for consumers and providers of all types and more unpleasant for both consumers and providers. It remains to be seen whether it helps or hurts agents. However, I suspect that in this mess lies some opportunity for the creative and the persistent (the survivors).
