An appellate court in Arizona, reversing a trial court’s decision, has ruled that a health care provider with a perfected lien for the costs of its having treated an insured could recover the amount it was owed from the insured’s carrier even though the carrier already had issued payment to the insured in a check payable to the insured and the health care provider. Read More

Benefit Unavailable to Worker When He Was Injured 40 Years Ago May Be Awarded Today, Georgia Appeals Court Rules
An appellate court in Georgia, reversing a lower court’s decision, has upheld a workers’ compensation board decision awarding a benefit – nurse case management services – to an employee who had been injured 40 years ago even though the benefit was not available to injured workers at the time of the employee’s injury. Read More
