Shooting Victim, Shopping Center Reach $350,000 Settlement
A shooting victim and the shopping center at which the shooting allegedly occurred have reached a $350,000 settlement of his lawsuit.

Facts & Allegations
Rodriguez Price, a college student and part-time forklift operator, alleged that he was visiting Tailfeathers Restaurant & Piano Bar in Sandy Springs, Georgia, when a customer physically harassed his girlfriend's sister. Mr. Price alleged that he confronted the customer, a physical altercation developed, and he and the customer were removed from the premises. Later that evening, Mr. Price said, he and several friends were walking through the parking lot when the other customer reappeared in front of him with a handgun and opened fire.

$14.9 Million Jury Verdict Where Driver Blamed Car's Design Defect for Injuries
A California jury has awarded plaintiffs $14,967,421 in a case charging that a car's design defect had caused injuries in an accident.

Facts & Allegations
Marcia Gray, a legal researcher, alleged that she was driving a 1995 Mazda Protege west on Interstate 580, near I-980 west, in Oakland, California, when she was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Cheyenne pickup truck.

According to Ms. Gray's counsel, the collision caused her seat to collapse backward, and the back of her head was struck by the intruding metal caused by the impact from the pickup truck. Ms. Gray alleged injuries to her head, brain, spine, and ribs, and partial paraplegia.

Customer Who Allegedly Tripped Over Pallet Loses Premises Liability Claim
A jury in Texas has rejected a premises liability claim brought against a store by a customer who claimed that he had been injured when he tripped over a pallet in the store.

Facts & Allegations
Brian Tumlinson alleged that he was walking through a storeroom in the Save-A-Lot grocery store at 3500 Denton Highway in Halton City, Texas, when he tripped and fell, fracturing his arm and suffering other injuries.

Mr. Tumlinson sued North Texas Supersave, the corporate owner of the store, claiming premises liability. His counsel maintained that Mr. Tumlinson was exiting the bathroom in the storeroom when he tripped and fell over a wooden storage pallet that store employees had left on the floor.
