The S&P 500 was up 23.45% for the year.
Sector SPDR shares outstanding were up by 54.70 million shares, or up 2.27% for the year.
Assets in Sector SPDRs increased by $8.10 billion, or up 34.93% for the year.
Short interest in Sector SPDRs was up 57.95 million shares, or up 24.81% for the year.
The best sector for 2009 (not including dividends) was Technology (XLK), up 48.80%.
Utilities (XLU), was the year's worst sector, but it was still up by 6.85% for the year.
