Select Sector SPDRs summary for the week ended January 8, 2010:
For the first week of the New Year, the S&P 500 was up 2.68%.
Sector SPDR assets grew $966 million for the week, or 3.09%.
Shares of Sector SPDRs grew, with 7,600,000 shares created for the week, up 0.61%.
Volume: 772 million Sector SPDR shares traded for the week.
Materials (XLB), up 5.85%, was the best-performing sector for the week. Utilities (XLU), had the worst performance, down 0.97%.
