Wyoming Supreme Court Adopts Notice-Prejudice Rule
The Wyoming Supreme Court, in response to a question certified to it by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, has ruled that, under Wyoming law, an insurer must be prejudiced before being entitled to deny coverage when the insured had failed to give notice "as soon as practicable" – regardless of the express language of the policy. Read More

Vermont Attorney General Recovers $200,000 in Insurance Funds for Contaminated Gas Station Cleanup
Vermont Attorney General William H. Sorrell has received $200,000 from Harleysville Worcester Insurance Company to settle a lawsuit in which the state alleged that an insurance policy issued by Harleysville to R. L. Vallee, Inc., the owner of underground storage tanks at a contaminated gas station site known as Nan's Mobil located in Fairfax, Vermont, provided insurance coverage for the cleanup of the site. Read More
