A federal district court in Florida has ruled that an insurer owed no duty to defend or indemnify its insured under its policy's "advertising injury" coverage provisions where the insured was sued by a competitor over its advertising but the competitor did not allege that the insured had disparaged the competitor's products.   Read More

A federal district court in New York has ruled that a plaintiff who claimed that the U.S. Postal Service had not delivered a laptop she sent by Priority Mail could not sue in tort. Two bond insurance subsidiaries of Assured Guaranty Ltd. have filed an adversary complaint challenging what Assured Guaranty characterized as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico's "illegal diversion of special revenue bond collateral" securing the payment of bonds issued by the Puerto Rico Highways and Transportation Authority.  Read More
