Arizona Appeals Court Upholds Policy Provision Denying UIM Coverage to Family Member Who Lived With Named Insured and Owned Motor Vehicle
An Arizona appeals court has ruled that Arizona's Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Act did not prohibit an insurance company from denying underinsured motorist coverage to a family member who lived with the named insured and who otherwise would be entitled to such coverage but for her ownership of a motor vehicle when the policy did not include the family member as a person insured under the policy - even though the so-called "other vehicle" exclusion previously had been found to violate Arizona law. Read More

Owner and Recruiter for Louisiana and Texas Mental Health Clinics Convicted as Part of $258 Million Health Care Fraud Scheme in Baton Rouge
An owner and operator of community mental health centers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as well as a patient recruiter for a related facility in Houston, Texas, have been convicted for their roles in what prosecutors characterize as a $258 million Medicare fraud scheme involving three facilities that filed fraudulent claims for psychiatric services that were unnecessary or never actually provided. Read More
