2010 Is Test Year For E&S Carrier Execs

2010 is the year for executives of excess and surplus lines insurance companies to make bets on the future, but long-term strategies won't sit well with short-term investors, experts said recently.

Investors in publicly traded E&S insurers will sell their shares if management teams present honest assessments of prospects for earnings growth under soft market conditions that most, but not all executives believe will persist in 2010.
