You express very nice thoughts and sentiments. The only trouble is, someone still has to make the trains run on time. Unfortunately, the political class (of both main parties) have promised more benefits and more military adventures than they can deliver or pay for. I attended a conference recently sponsored by Social Security. The bottom line is we either cut benefits 20 percent, raise taxes 20 percent or do some of each. Medicare and Medicaid are worse problems. Like Obama said during the campaign, its all about the math. I just hope he actually is looking at the math. There is no escaping it.
