I hope brokers become the new travel agents. I have friends in the travel business having the best year of their careers. True, they tell me, the Internet hurt their business initially but as soon as people found themselves on a self-directed trip to Croatia with no one to turn to when a problem arose they began booking through travel agents again.
Just as those travel agents (travel agents still book almost two-thirds of airline flights) who adapted to life with the Internet are flourishing so will brokers who adapt to the PPACA flourish.
