Overheard on BenefitsPro

I certainly don't always agree with you but appreciate that you are a provocateur! The ruling Left (at least the online left is honest) does not want to try to argue straight up for Single Payer because it is a loser. DOA , even in our entitlement society. The mandate only increases the risk pool in that the 32 million uninsured, getting free health care via ER's, will now get free health care via the 50% who pay taxes. So while we may in fact be increasing the risk pool in terms of semantics, we are merely switching the "cost shift" from private insurance to Federal Subsidies. How does this decrease the total cost? I think we can all agree how it will impact utilization.
