Overheard on BenefitsPro

Our President talks about judicial activism! What about Presidential activism! Here we have a President signing into law a law that was passed by Congress by the skin of its teeth, a process that showed the epitome of what's wrong with Congress. The only reason this law passed is because 8 House members rolled over on their moral values regarding abortion, not to mention all the backroom deals such as "the Nebraska cornhusker deal" and 'the Louisiana Medicaid Purchase deal". The dispicable process can be summed up in Nancy Pelosi's comment (and I paraphrase): We need to pass this bill to see what's in it! Really!! Really!! And I defy anyone to find the words or the phrase "individual mandate" in the constitution. Granted, we need fixes to our health care system as far as costs and access, but this requirement that our government can require its citizens to purchase something, or not purchase something is, plain and simple, unconstitutional.
