Overheard on BenefitsPro

Ummmm. Let's see. We reported on average weekly for the last how many years about 400K new unemployment claims and the DOL uses the ultimately fudgeable U3 number to pretty much strain credulity by dropping off as many people as necessary to get the number right. We have all the seasonable jobs go away since the Holidays ended and daily reporting for months of major industry layoffs but somehow miraculously the U3 drops again. I wonder how that can happen.
