Overheard on BenefitsPro

The truth of the matter is that HSA/HRA/CDHP higher deductibles have become just that, a high deductible health plan. These plans in CA are getting between a 12 and 25% rate increase each year, while the traditional PPO plans are in the low single 2-5% range. The premium gap between these plan designs has narrowed substantially. This gives even further credibility to my belief, that is doesn't matter what a health plans design is, if all the folks move to it, it will experience double digit, ongoing rate increases! Claims are claims are claims!!
