Good morning, Resource Investors.

Concerns about the debt troubles of Greece and other southern European nations propped up the dollar -- and bore down on gold -- last week, but the precious metal came powering back early this week on news that stronger European nations would carry the burdens of their poorer neighbors. On Monday, gold gained $13.40, then added another $11 on Tuesday. Before the recent rebound, the market lost $65 an ounce in a three-session losing streak.

Copper also rebounded on a weaker dollar, although not quite as strongly as gold. The copper market is down more than 60 cents off its highs to start the year. The March futures contract is currently trading in the high $2.80s a pound at Comex. A week-long Chinese holiday next week threatens to pare buying pressure in the short-term.

In the crude oil market, high supplies weighed on prices, pushing the March futures contract down to $73 a barrel. The American Petroleum Institute reported that crude oil inventories rose to their highest levels since last October. Gasoline also is in solid supply -- at its highest levels in more than 10 years.

For more on the reasons behind these moves, see these headlines, where you can catch up on what happened in the resource markets this past week -- and prepare for the next.
