Good morning, Resource Investors.

After slipping below the $1,100 an ounce level, gold appears to be stalled, waiting for some sign from the Federal Open Market Committee meetings this week. Meanwhile, bullish pressure continues to build overseas as investors in China are rushing to buy the precious metal.

While Chinese consumers are chasing gold, concerns that their country will not maintain its high rate of growth weighed on the copper market. China is the world's No. 1 consumer of the industrial metal. A rising dollar also delivered a bearish blow to copper, which fell to $3.3290 a pound in the March futures contract on Tuesday.

In the energy markets, crude oil has slipped below $75 a barrel. Weak demand is one culprit, which is evident in the Department of Energy report of a significant decline in refinery utilization. U.S. refineries are now operating at their lowest capacity levels since 1989.

For more on the reasons behind these moves, see these headlines, where you can catch up on what happened in the resource markets this past week -- and prepare for the next.
