An appellate court in New Jersey, affirming a trial court’s decision, has ruled that a landlord named as an additional insured on its tenant’s insurance policy was entitled to coverage for a personal injury claim brought by a person who allegedly was injured on the stairs outside the store leased by the tenant. Read More

Exception to Exclusion for Named Insured Did Not Result in Coverage for Additional Insured, Fifth Circuit Decides
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, applying Louisiana law and affirming a district court’s decision, has ruled that an exception to a watercraft exclusion in a general marine liability insurance policy only applied to liability that the named insured had assumed under an insured contract and, therefore, did not result in coverage where an additional insured sought coverage under the policy. Read More
